Emaline's Gift is the first book in The Magi Chronicles, a contemporary fantasy series about the magical adventures of the Christ-following magi as they fight evil and reach out in the Name of the one true God.
Thirteen-year-old Emaline is out running an errand for her Mom one night when strong hands reach out and grab her. Her assailants are the wicked obeah, and Emaline soon finds herself used as a pawn in their battle with the magi. Struggling to get away, Emaline can't believe her eyes when Violet, one of the obeah, conjures a fireball in midair. Her life changes like that, and Emaline is soon thrust into the middle of a centuries-old magical war between the magi and the obeah. When she's taken hostage, Aaron, Balthasar and the rest of the Washington DC magi need to find her and rescue her—before it's too late.
What Readers Are Saying About Emaline's Gift
"I like to read bedtime stories to my children (ages 5 to 12) but have been trying to find more fantasy novels that use more Scripture and Bible truths. Brad really delivers with this book which is totally Christ centered and focuses on the Truth. This is a great novel about the constant spiritual battle between good and evil and how God remains in control and is always faithful. I cannot wait to read more from this author!!!"
- Jeannie, Amazon.com review
"The author clearly states that his intention with this story was to write a book similar to Harry Potter while strengthening his readers' faith. He was successful. Not only did this book fulfill my expectations in that regard, but it also satisfied my thirst for adventure and fantasy when I read a book. I was hook on the first page and on the edge of my seat at times. I look forward to reading future books in this series and recommend it to everyone. If you're one of those parents who are against Harry Potter and would like a nice alternative, preview this book, and then let your children read it if you choose. Lastly, my hat's off to the author for the last page. What's on the last page? I'm not telling..."
